Latest EU Directive on Energy in Buildings

The transposition of the EU's EPBD 2002/91/EC and subsequent 2010/31/EU directive, including the implementation of Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) is the biggest mandatory energy requirement for buildings to date.

BREEAM is a voluntary certification scheme adopted to demonstrate the environmental credentials of a building. It is often new buildings that have BREEAM ratings carried out and the report considers a wide range of factors in addition to energy use and efficiency such as proximity to local transport links.
