Lighting Data for best EPC Results

When inputting lighting data for the production of a non-domestic EPC there are three options available to the assessor.

1. Basic Lighting type input

The type of lighting is input ie T8 Standard, T8 High Frequency Triphosphur or Compact Fluorescent.

2. Design

Where a Design calculation has been carried out then 'Design' type may be used. It is a requirement that a design calculation has been carried out in accordance with CIBSE Society of Lighting & Lighting (SLL). A full blackout is required with detailed recording of the lux levels.

3. Lumens per circuit wattage

In general better EPC results are obtained where a Design calculation has been carried out and specific results are entered into SBEM. With existing buildings this is often not available.
